Fun Day 2016


  The 2016 Family Fun Day was our biggest and best yet. We were blessed with good weather (again!) and a great time was had by all. 
   
 

 

Croix du Nord 

 
Croix du Nord, the Dark Ages re-enactment group were with us again this year. As well as the combat displays, so popular at last year’s Fun Day, the Lancaster based group also be demonstrated the crafts of the early Medieval period, such as spinning, cooking and weaving.  


 Garstang Ukelele Band

 
  Garstang Ukelele Band provided a fun-filled, dance along, sing along session to kick off the day's musical entertainment.

The ukulele has become one of Britain's most popular instruments. From primary schools to the U3A and in local groups throughout the country, people of all ages are strumming their favourite songs.

 Preston Concert Band

 
Preston Concert Band provided live music for most of the afternoon.

The band's repertoire included classical numbers, music from the musicals, film music, swing and big band.

 
 

 Garstang Tae Kwon Do

 
 

One of the highlights of the Fun Day again this year was the displays by Garstang Tae Kwon Do.

Inspired, I'm sure, by British Tae Kwon Do success in this year's Olympics, they showed that Tae Kwon Do is for everyone.
